12 arrested for spreading rape video- ধর্ষণের ভিডিও ছড়ানোর অভিযোগে গ্রেপ্তার ১২

The student's father has filed a case against a college student in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna for allegedly possessing video rape and spreading it through social media. Police have arrested 12 people in the incident. The girl's father filed a case on Sunday afternoon when police raided different areas of the upazila and arrested them.

The arrested are Mehdi Hasan, 22, of Mahadevpur village of Shahapur union of Rajshahi upazila, Rajib Mondal (32), Rasel Hossain (25), Rabbi Hossain (25) of Shahapur village, Shihab Hossain (1), Shamim Hossain (22), Rajshahi (22) and Raja Hossain. Shafiul Islam (25), Eman Ali (25), Ashik (25) and Mahfuz Ahmed (25) of Upazila Sadar.


According to the local people and the source of the case, the girl is a second-year student. Mehdi Hasan used to harass him on his way to college for several days. On June 5, on the way to college, Mehdi picked her up and raped her in the face of a weapon. At the same time, the scene takes place on the cellphone and it threatens to spread through social media. In this situation, his family got married in August. Enraged, Mehdi sent the video with the help of others arrested and sent the young woman's husband through social media. The husband then divorced her husband. In these cases, the young woman was affected socially as well as in her life.

Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bahauddin Farooqi said at first light, the girl's father had filed a case in the case of digital security, pornography and women abuse prevention lawsuit. Immediately after the case was filed, the accused were arrested and sent to jail through court. Whether anyone else is involved in the incident is being investigated.
